Tarot Wisdom: Sacrifice, Manifestation and Letting Go
The Devil: Manifestation, Sacrifice and Letting Go.
By Roman Delgado.
I work as a professional Psychic Reader and Spiritual Healer. I read Tarot Cards, Cast Bones and work Shamanic Healing. I am a jack of all trades of a sort with a large skillset to aide my clients. Yet I am not writing this to boast about my skills or promote my business. I am writing about a pattern I have seen far too often in my readers room while doing psychic readings or spiritual healing. You see a lot of people who come to see me, don’t do so out of a minor discomfort. Plenty do so because their hair is metaphorically on fire, and they need help putting it out.
One of my most common complaints is that people feel stuck. That it doesn’t matter how much they try to strive for their dreams they can’t quite seem to get momentum going. Like a car stuck in mud spinning their wheels in place. Mind you what I am about to speak about here is truly being stuck, not being in a state of transition. Transition is the energy of change, change takes time. Yes you may be stuck in place for some time while in transition but it is very different energy from not being able to manifest.
When you are in transition you are waiting for the perfect situation both internally and externally to manifest in order to act. When you are stuck all of the element of those situations are present and no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, your actions will not produce results. Therein lays the difference.
So now that we have defined our issue let’s delve into a bit deeper. I could go into this with my trademark approach of Shamanic Healing and Folk Magick. However it would require me to speak about a completely different set of issues. In all reality those issues would be worthy of a blogpost of their own to do them justice.
What I am going to talk about is what I talk about with my Tarot clients when they come to me seeking help when they are stuck. When for the life of them they are trying their hardest to make something happen and it just doesn’t show up. What I do with them is simple. I ask them a question: What have you released out of your life in order to make room for your manifestation? Or done in the form of a statement: You cannot take a bite out of life with a full belly!. How many of us have wanted and dreamed to have the perfect romantic mate to show up and sweep of us our feet, when we can’t stop thinking of that Ex who treated us badly. How many dream of starting their own business and be financially independent, when in all reality we feel that money corrupts and is the root of all evil.
Whether the blocks to our success are internal or external it is irrelevant. Unless we release what is holding us back we are never going to live our dreams. For me as a Tarot Reader of over 30 years of experience ( It was a family craft I started training as a small child ) I personally associate this type of thing with the energy of one card within the Tarot: “ The Devil.”
The devil normally depicts a large demon holding in chains a nude man and a woman. One of the most common interpretations of the Tarot is that it symbolizes the carnal aspects of human nature that keep us away from spiritual mastery. Yet Tarot, is far more complex than that. When it comes to manifestation those chain can symbolize whatever is holding us chained to our current life. Imagine a hypothetical situation in which a client would want to have the love of their life treat them like a king or queen! Yet they refuse to leave their current toxic abusive relationship. Imagine the hypothetical man who has been saving his money for decades to open his own restaurant and now has money to do so, yet they refuse to leave their current job even though they are truly unhappy there.
Tarot then with the example of the Devil Card, would speak not only of the situations we have that are keeping us chained to our present life. But in my own personal interpretation of the card. Our own mental gymnastics that we put ourselves through to keep alive a past that no longer wants us. As such we cannot stop spinning our wheels in place and manifest until we break the chains of The Devil.
Do you now see where I have been leading you? Yes Magic works! But not without Sacrifice! And the first sacrifice that we must give up to our magic in order to manifest is our own past. This can potentially take us into a rabbit hole of Tarot speak with other cards like the Death Card, The Hanged Man Card or the Tower Card. Yet once again such rabbit hole would deserve a blog post of its own. So I invite you to go down that rabbit hole of Tarot discussion with your own magical community.
In Pagan Circles we are taught that in order for our spells to work we must take action in order for them to come to fruition. Yet sometimes we forget to make room in our lives for it. We cannot take a vacation to Hawaii without sacrificing the money or vacation time from work. Or in most cases quit our jobs and get a better one that would one day allows such luxuries.
There is also all of that mental chatter and programing that goes against what we want to manifest. Howe can we ever be financially independent and wealthy if we believe that money is the root of all evil? How can we manifest the relationship of our dreams when we are living with the mental programing of a lifetime of toxic relationships.
Manifestation not only asks you to sacrifice physical things, it ask you to sacrifice from within the core of your being, what you carry that goes against the essence of your magical work. Until you are willing to stop being the individual who is living with the life you are trying improve, and be the one who lives your dreams. Until you let go of who you used to be, both inside and outside. You will never break the chains of The Devil.
This blog post was written in general terms, in purely hypothetical scenarios that in no way reflect any of my clients or community.
